Our artisans have the experience and knowledge to repair, restore, and replace historical elements to meet the rigid requirements of even the most demanding conservators and architects.
Several of the buildings we have restored have won Historical Preservation Awards. We are able to take on projects that other companies cannot handle due to our extensive experience in restoration work.
We are able to do high restoration in a production-oriented manner, accurately estimating the job and the resources necessary to complete the project on schedule and budget. We welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your restoration goals.
Additionally, we have a State of Florida General Contractors License as well as a lead abatement certificate.

Fletcher Lounge is one of the most significant historical buildings in Tampa. While completing the restoration of the building, Specialized completely removed all paint from the domed ceiling, cornice and 360 degree mural, removed paint to uncover original stencils and painted it the original colors from 1891. We also made flowerette light collars, restored murals, and performed gilding and stencils in high areas. All the work, including massive scaffold rigging, was completed in 120 calendar days.

In 1987, we donated the labor and materials to paint a room in the museum. Since the museum was originally painted in 1891, the paint was decaying and releasing from the walls and ceiling, taking subsequent layers of paint with it. We told the museum we would be happy to donate this room only if we were allowed to remove all the paint from the walls and ceilings prior to painting. This presented a problem because removing the paint made the project a 2-week process instead of a 2-day process. We worked day and night to complete the room in time for their exhibit. The room we donated was the first room that did not have paint peeling from the walls and ceiling within six months after it was painted. It has been almost 15? years and the paint on those walls still hasn’t peeled. A couple of years after doing that room, we started restoring rooms, one or two at a time as the museum's budget allowed. To date we have restored all the rooms in the museum using the colors that were originally used in 1891. We have done each project within budget and under very tight time constraints. Each December the museum holds a Victorian Christmas Stroll - this would be a great opportunity to see one of Tampa’s great assets and see our work first hand. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
