Specialized Property Services was awarded its first Home Depot job in 1993.
In May 2000, Specialized was part of a team that successfully built new Home Depot stores correctly and on time.
In February 2001, we were again asked to be part of a team that turned four old Builders Square buildings into Home Depot stores.
Since 1993, Specialized has painted over 100 new stores throughout the Southeast United States and the Caribbean.

Specialized Property Services removed and installed new caulking and sealants, painted exposed structure ceilings, patched concrete to match old concrete tilt walls to new precast concrete walls, removed existing paint from interior and exterior walls and painted interior and exterior buildings completely on two Costcos. The Ca ‘d’ Zan project consisted of restoring the complete interior of a 38,000 square foot museum, which was originally built in the 1920's. The work included restoration of painted plaster and canvas as well as restoring original finishes in the museum.

Specialized has painted over 65 Bealls stores in the Southeastern United States. All areas of all stores had to be painted in accordance with store schedules and were commenced in small sections to ensure that customer shopping would not be disrupted. Even with these challenges, we finished on time!

On these jobs we did an interior build out, exterior painting and texture coatings for the warehouse and distribution centers in Central Florida. Due to the industrial nature of these projects, we used a two component urethane that has an ultraviolet inhibitor. We also used texture coatings and sealants.

We completed the painting of the underwater viewing areas and the decorative painting of the exterior. Because we were dealing with both sea life and marine life in the underwater areas, we utilized special coatings and finishes that were very environmentally friendly.

We painted the interior and exterior of stores from Dallas, Texas to Tampa, Florida. As the stores remained open during the entire project, we had to carefully work in a small grid going section by section to stay on schedule. In this manner, the customer’s shopping experience was not disrupted and the stores were able to remain open for business. [View our Interactive Portfolio]
We completed the interior build out and exterior painting of the existing recreation center located within a municipal park. In order to stay within the city ordinances and guidelines, we utilized seven colors on this building along with textured coatings.

Since this building is located on one of the busiest streets downtown we had both pedestrian and traffic control issues. The Exterior painting of the existing building had to be performed in an environment of safety and efficiency.

We painted buildings throughout Central and South Florida. Each retail operation remained up and running during the entire project and customers were able to continue to shop unobstructed. Though our crew painted only limited areas each day, we remained on schedule.

Specialized removed, replaced, finished and painted interior drywall, soffits and ceilings in 12-story atrium. We used swing stages and suspended platforms which were all built above tree line approximately 3 stories above the ground. All work was done over common areas and restaurant in fully open and operating hotels.
Both of these atrium style hotels presented very difficult rigging concerns. The Tampa hotel has a creek and various planting areas with trees as tall as three stories. The Philadelphia hotel has a multi-level atrium with a raised restaurant area and a mezzanine. Both hotels are business hotels with many meetings and conferences, therefore the atriums had to be fully functional while the work was being done. This situation is easy to deal with on retail stores because they shut down at night, but a hotel is busy with meetings during the day and people sleeping at night. We set a work schedule that would allow the atrium to be used, as well as not bother guests when they were sleeping. The most difficult part of these projects was building and working from free hanging platforms hung through skylights in the roof. Most of these platforms had to be built in the air above the tree line or the mezzanine levels. Both projects were completed on schedule without a glitch. [View our Interactive Portfolio]

This project included the exterior painting and waterproofing of a historical high-rise condominium on Davis Island in Tampa, Fl. This project presented many challenges due to the intricate architectural design.
